As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Operations Manager to help drive the company forward and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee and support the smooth running of the business across internal sales, purchasing, supplier management, operations and office coordination.

This is a varied position where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will work closely with the management team and will be involved in both operational leadership and day-to-day business activities.

You will help manage quotations, orders, purchasing, invoicing, supplier relationships, workflow coordination and internal processes, while also supporting customer service and operational efficiency across the business.

The role would suit someone who is commercially aware, highly motivated, entrepreneurial in their thinking and looking for a long-term opportunity where they can grow with the business and make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the office and internal departments
  • Supporting and overseeing internal telesales and customer service activity
  • Managing quotations, customer orders, purchasing and invoicing processes
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships
  • Monitoring workflow across sales, purchasing, accounts and deliveries
  • Supporting stock purchasing and supplier negotiations
  • Assisting with accounts oversight and ensuring accurate administration processes
  • Providing management support and cover when required
  • Helping improve internal systems, procedures and operational efficiency
  • Coordinating deliveries and operational schedules where required
  • Supporting management with business growth initiatives and commercial decision-making
  • Bringing new ideas and identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
  • Using Sage and Microsoft Office systems to manage operational processes and reporting
  • Ensuring high levels of organisation, communication and customer service throughout the business

About You

The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, organised, intelligent, hands-on and confident managing multiple responsibilities within a busy environment.

You will have previous management or supervisory experience and enjoy working closely with both customers and internal teams.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous operations, office management or commercial management experience
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Good commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Experience managing or supervising staff and operational workflow
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience within wholesale, distribution, electrical, construction or trade environments would be highly advantageous
  • Good IT skills including Excel, Word and Sage (or similar systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload
  • A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to take ownership
