School Caretaker / Building Service Manager

School Building Service Manager / Caretaker required to work in the Quinton area

Shifts: Monday - Friday

Shift pattern: Monday 7-12 and 4-6pm, Tuesday to Friday 7am - 3pm

Pay: £13.75-£16 per hour

Permanent or temp to perm role.

Key Responsibilities

• Have experience in working within a School and understanding the role of a site manager.
• Provide portering services, including setting up classrooms and event spaces, moving furniture, and assisting with deliveries.
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, plumbing and equipment.
• Ensuring the security of the school's premises and grounds, locking at the appropriate times, closing of windows and setting of alarms. Unlocking and locking up the school site as well as individual departments. Key holding responsible.
• Assisting with lettings, bookings, set up of equipment and grounds supervision of evening/weekend meetings and after school activities
• Maintain outdoor areas to ensure a safe and tidy school environment - litter picking, grounds maintenance, etc
• Empty bins / rubbish removal
• Report any health and safety issues/ concerns
• To carry out appropriate risk assessments
• To liaise and manage contractors whilst they are on site

About you:

• Have experience in working within a School and understanding the role of a site manager.
• Good understanding of COSHH awareness and Health and Safety knowledge
• Holds an ENHANCED Child DBS in date within the last 12 months, or an ENHANCED DBS on the update service.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
