Nursery Cook - Maternity Cover (FTC)

Location: Emberton

Hours: 8:30-5:00

Salary: £13.50-£15.50 per hour / £28,080-£32,240 per annum

Contract: 12‑month Fixed Term (maternity cover) - potential to become permanent if able to travel to other settings

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our team in Emberton. The nursery is based in a lovely village setting, with access to an Outdoor Learning Centre and regular walks to local parks.

You must have:

• Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum)
• Allergen training

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy, balanced meals using fresh ingredients and minimal salt, sugar and additives.
• Follow a rolling four‑week seasonal menu.
• Cater for allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences.
• Order supplies weekly through approved suppliers.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and record‑keeping.
• Support occasional cooking activities with children.
• Work within the agreed food budget.
• Follow all policies, procedures and Environmental Health guidelines.
• Support inspections and implement any recommendations.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
