Hygiene Operative

Role Purpose

To maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness across production and equipment areas, ensuring compliance with company standards, food safety, and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled daily cleaning tasks in line with site cleaning schedules and hygiene standards.
• Perform deep cleaning of machinery and equipment, including strip‑down and reassembly (full training provided).
• Complete general cleaning of production areas, including sweeping, mopping, washing racks and trays, and safe handling and disposal of waste.
• Safely and effectively operate hygiene and cleaning equipment such as hot hoses, floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuum cleaners (training provided).
• Ensure all assigned cleaning tasks are completed correctly, on time, and to company standards.
• Follow all work instructions, cleaning schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment always.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety requirements, COSHH regulations, and the safe use of chemicals (preferred but not essential - training will be provided).
• Report any hygiene, safety, or equipment issues promptly to the relevant person.
