📍 Location: Motherwell (within a 45‑minute travel distance)

💷 Salary: £26,731 per annum, £22,944 Trainee Salary + 3% commission

📄 Contract: Permanent

⏰ Hours: Full Time

🔄 Shifts: Varied shifts including weekends

As a Station Gateline Assistant, you'll be one of the first people customers meet - setting the tone for a safe, smooth, and welcoming station experience.

This is a hands‑on, people‑focused role where no two days are the same, and where your communication skills and calm approach really make a difference.

Full training is provided, and no previous rail experience is required.

🚦 What You'll Be Doing

  • 🤝 Customer Information & Support
  • Providing clear travel information and assisting customers, including wheelchair users and those requiring extra help.
  • 🎟 Ticket Checks & Issuing
  • Checking tickets and supporting documents and issuing tickets in line with excess fares procedures.
  • 🛡 Gateline Safety & Operation
  • Ensuring the safe operation of automatic gates, identifying hazards, opening gates when needed, and maintaining safe passenger flows.
  • 🚶 Queue & Crowd Management
  • Supporting customer direction, monitoring queue lengths, opening additional gates when required, and carrying out queue‑busting duties.
  • 🧹 Station Standards
  • Emptying ticket hoppers, disposing of collected tickets, and keeping gates and equipment clean and safe.
