Job Title: Unified Communications Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a dependable, driven, and hard-working Unified Communications Engineer to join our growing team. This is a dynamic hybrid role combining desk-based support with hands-on field work across Central Scotland.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality support, installations, and maintenance services across a range of telephony, networking, and unified communications systems. This position is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the determination to continuously develop their skills within a fast-evolving industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line technical support across telephony and networking environments
  • Install, configure, and maintain iPECS Cloud and on-premise PBX systems
  • Deploy and support 4G/5G connectivity solutions, including cellular routers (e.g., Teltonika)
  • Design, install, and troubleshoot enterprise Wi-Fi solutions (Ubiquiti UniFi & TP-Link Omada)
  • Carry out structured cabling installations (CAT5/CAT6) and maintain tidy comms cabinets
  • Conduct site surveys, system design, and implementation of communication solutions
  • Configure value-added services such as IVR, voicemail, call recording, and auto-attendants
  • Provide on-site and remote fault diagnosis and repair, ensuring SLA compliance
  • Support and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Miradore)
  • Assist with moves, adds, and changes for customer systems
  • Maintain stock, test equipment, and produce reports to support service delivery
  • Collaborate internally using tools such as ClickUp to manage projects and workloads

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with:
    • iPECS telephony platforms (Cloud & On-Prem)
    • Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link Omada networking solutions
  • Strong fault-finding abilities across:
    • PSTN, ISDN, SIP, and mobile data connections (4G/5G)
  • Excellent customer-facing communication skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

Role Details

  • Location: Hybrid - Livingston (EH54 7DE) & customer sites across Central Scotland
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: TBC
