Blue Arrow are currently recruiting for Waste Operatives to join a busy and essential waste and recycling team based in the SG1 area. These are ongoing temporary opportunities with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidates.

The Role

As a Waste Operative, you will play a key role in delivering a front line service, collecting waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties. This is a hands-on, physically active role working outdoors as part of a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting household and commercial waste and recycling materials safely and efficiently
• Returning bins and containers to their correct locations after collection
• Removing bulky waste items from residential properties when required
• Clearing spillages and ensuring streets and public areas remain clean and tidy
• Supporting safe disposal of waste at designated sites
• Operating tools and equipment in line with health & safety guidelines
• Working closely with drivers and other team members to complete daily routes
• Delivering a high standard of customer service to the public

What We're Looking For

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Good awareness of health & safety practices
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Physically fit and able to carry out demanding, manual work
• Reliable and flexible approach to work
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Desirable:

• Previous experience within waste, recycling, or a similar environment
• Knowledge of waste collection practices or equipment
