Ad-Hoc General Kitchen Assistant - Northampton

About the Role

We are currently recruiting reliable and hardworking General Kitchen Assistants to work on an ad-hoc basis across a range of sites in Northampton. This is a flexible opportunity ideal for individuals looking to pick up shifts around other commitments while gaining experience in busy kitchen environments such as schools, care homes, and contract catering sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting chefs and kitchen teams with food preparation
• Washing up and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas
• Ensuring all equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored correctly
• Assisting with basic food tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
• Helping with stock rotation and deliveries when required

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of hygiene standards
• Food Hygiene Certificate is advantageous
• DBS is desirable (depending on site requirements)
