Maintenance Technician (School Sites) - Immediate Start | Ongoing
Multiple school sites - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Full-time - 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join a busy and supportive school trust. This is an immediate start, ongoing position, ideal for someone practical, reliable, and experienced in general maintenance work.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and grounds, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and well-presented for staff and students.
Duties will include:
- Carrying out general maintenance and reactive repairs
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating
- Supporting site security, including opening/closing and alarm checks
- Grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming and clearing pathways
- Assisting with deliveries, moving furniture and room setups
- Responding to urgent maintenance issues and occasional out-of-hours call-outs
- Travelling between sites as required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman or facilities role
- Strong practical skills across general trades
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Able to work independently and manage your workload effectively
- Reliable, proactive and takes pride in maintaining high standards
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle - essential
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) - essential
Desirable
- Experience working within a school or similar environment
- Relevant trade qualifications (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
