Join one of the Basingstoke area's most prestigious independent schools as our new Deputy Nursery Manager. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced early years professional to step into a leadership role within a highly respected, well‑resourced nursery setting that prides itself on excellence, warmth, and a child‑centred ethos.

The Role

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in the day‑to‑day leadership of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding. You will support the Nursery Manager in driving quality, mentoring staff, and creating an inspiring environment where children thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a dedicated early years team
  • Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and school policies
  • Maintain exceptional standards of teaching, learning, and care
  • Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider school community
  • Oversee planning, assessment, and curriculum delivery
  • Support with recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Step up to manage the nursery in the Manager's absence

About You

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (minimum); Level 5+ desirable
  • Strong leadership experience within an early years setting
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
  • Confident communicator with a warm, professional presence
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding early education
  • Organised, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
