Blue Arrow are recruiting for refuse collection drivers in Lochaber You will collect household or commercial waste and recycling, adhering to strict safety and traffic regulations and lead a team of loaders, perform daily vehicle checks, manage collection schedules, and drive to disposal sites. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Driving &amp; Safety: Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle through residential or commercial streets.</li><li>Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections (checks for oil, tyres, lights) and report defects.</li><li>Collection Operations: Supervise the loading crew, ensuring efficient, safe collection of bins, and manage on-board computer systems (e.g., Bartec) for routes.</li><li>Waste Disposal: Drive to landfills or recycling facilities to unload waste.</li><li>Compliance &amp; Records: Adhere to Working Time Directive (WTD), driver hours rules, and complete daily logs.</li><li>Customer Service: Act as a front-line service representative, maintaining professional communication with the public. </li></ul>Required Skills and Qualifications<ul><li>Licence: Valid Class 2 HGV (Category C) driving licence.</li><li>Certifications: Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Digi-Tachograph card.</li><li>Experience: Previous HGV driving experience, preferably in waste management.</li><li>Skills: Strong maneuvering skills, team leadership, and understanding of health and safety regulations</li></ul> Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
