We are looking for passionate and reliable School Chefs to join our catering teams across primary and secondary schools in Southend-on-Sea.

About the Role

As a School Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving fresh, balanced meals for pupils and staff in line with school food standards. You'll manage the kitchen day-to-day, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking healthy, high-quality meals
• Menu planning and portion control
• Managing stock, ordering, and budget control
• Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
• Leading or supporting kitchen assistants where required
• Creating a positive and welcoming dining experience for pupils

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a chef or cook (school or high‑volume catering preferred, but not essential)
• A passion for fresh, nutritious food
• Knowledge of food safety and allergen awareness
• Ability to work independently and manage a kitchen
• Friendly, dependable, and organised approach
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
