Recycling Operative (automotive/voltage)

Blue Arrow is urgently recruiting for a Recycling Operative (automotive/voltage) to join our clients team based in the Llanelli area.

Salary: £24,454 p.a (Monthly pay)

Hours of work: 37 hours pw working Mon - Thurs 08:30 - 17:00 and Fridays 09:00 - 15:00

Contract: Permanent

Main Responsibilities:

• Process automotive high voltage lithium-ion batteries and battery scrap materials through the safe operation of our battery recycling equipment & machinery
• Perform battery inspections, discharging, testing, crushing and output of battery materials
• Liaise with engineers and team members to develop and improve our in-house processes
• Workshop management (e.g. PPE is checked and used correctly, machinery is not misused)
• Assist with the monitoring of waste quantities and outputted products (e.g. black mass)
• Ensure that all processes are followed correctly to tight deadlines

Skills required:

• Experience of working in a warehouse/yard environment
• Safety-first approach to work is essential
• Excellent attention to detail and a great work ethic
• Methodological approach to tasks and ability to work in an orderly, disciplined manner
• Great communication skills (Clear written and verbal communication is essential)
• Physically able to carry out manual tasks: The role is a very Physical role
• Able to understand and follow processes and safe systems of work (SSOW)

Desirable:

• Experience of electronics and/or Hazardous high voltage experience and awareness (training is provided)
• Forklift counterbalance experience but training will be provided
• 3 A-Levels and/or a technical level qualification (e.g. vocational course)
• UK Drivers Licence
