What You'll Be Doing - Sous Chef Responsibilities
As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in driving the kitchen forward. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head Chef with daily operations and stepping up in their absence
- Leading and motivating junior chefs to deliver high‑quality service
- Helping with menu development, specials, and fresh ideas
- Ensuring every dish leaves the pass with consistency, quality, and great presentation
- Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene, food safety, and allergen standards
- Overseeing stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Contributing to a positive, energetic and collaborative kitchen culture

Hours & Working Pattern
- 36 hours per week
- Core shifts:
- Monday: 09:00 - 21:00
- Wednesday: 09:00 - 21:00
- Thursday: 09:00 - 21:00
- Opportunities to pick up extra hours
- Around one weekend shift per month, with potential for more if desired
- Stable, consistent rota in a supportive kitchen environment
Salary
£26,200 - £28,000 per year depending on experience.
