What You'll Be Doing - Sous Chef Responsibilities

As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in driving the kitchen forward. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with daily operations and stepping up in their absence
  • Leading and motivating junior chefs to deliver high‑quality service
  • Helping with menu development, specials, and fresh ideas
  • Ensuring every dish leaves the pass with consistency, quality, and great presentation
  • Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene, food safety, and allergen standards
  • Overseeing stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
  • Contributing to a positive, energetic and collaborative kitchen culture

Hours & Working Pattern

  • 36 hours per week
  • Core shifts:
    • Monday: 09:00 - 21:00
    • Wednesday: 09:00 - 21:00
    • Thursday: 09:00 - 21:00
  • Opportunities to pick up extra hours
  • Around one weekend shift per month, with potential for more if desired
  • Stable, consistent rota in a supportive kitchen environment

Salary

£26,200 - £28,000 per year depending on experience.
