Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Joiner for a temporary assignment carrying out repairs, maintenance and joinery work within domestic properties. This hands‑on role forms part of a multi‑disciplined repairs team, delivering high‑quality and excellent customer service.

The role is ideal for someone confident in using digital job systems and experienced in domestic joinery and maintenance tasks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out joinery repairs and maintenance on domestic dwellings.
  • Complete a wide range of joinery tasks including doors, frames, skirting, floors, kitchens and general carpentry.
  • Use a PDA or handheld device to receive work orders, record progress and update job status.
  • Work from NHF Schedule of Rates (or similar) to complete tasks accurately.
  • Resolve routine on‑site issues using your own initiative.
  • Provide excellent communication and customer service when interacting with tenants.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism at all times.
  • Accurately record time, materials and job details.
  • Work safely in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act and workplace requirements.
  • Support multi‑trade work when necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in repairs and maintenance of domestic properties.
  • Confident using PDA/handheld devices to manage and update work orders.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplined team.
  • Capable of working independently and resolving minor issues.
  • Strong customer‑first attitude and communication skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive practice in the workplace.
  • Flexible "can‑do" approach to working hours and changing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
