<p> </p><div><h2><strong>Band 3 Financial Assessment Team Officer</strong></h2><p>📍 <strong>Location:</strong> McAvoy House, Newry<br /> 💷 <strong>Pay Rate:</strong> £12.75 per hour<br /> 🕒 <strong>Contract Type:</strong> Temporary (3-6 months)<br /> 📅 <strong>Working Hours:</strong> Full-time, Monday to Friday</p><h3><strong>About the Role</strong></h3><p>We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for <strong>Band 3 Financial Assessment Team Officers</strong> to join a busy finance team based in McAvoy House, Newry. These temporary roles offer an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a public sector environment.</p><p>The successful candidates will support the Financial Assessments Team in delivering accurate and efficient financial assessment services, contributing to income generation and financial administration across the Trust.</p><hr /><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><h4><strong>Service Delivery</strong></h4><ul><li>Provide administrative support in preparing and calculating financial assessments, including drafting correspondence, performing routine calculations, and maintaining case files</li><li>Assist with income recovery processes, including calculating charges, generating invoices, issuing reminder notices, and resolving queries</li><li>Accurately input financial transactions into systems such as e-Financials in line with Trust policies and procedures</li><li>Process and record payments, including cash, cheques, and electronic transfers</li><li>Support lodgement preparation by reconciling receipts and verifying amounts</li><li>Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper coding within financial systems and General Ledger</li><li>Assist with appointeeship duties, including benefit management, payments, and client account administration</li><li>Investigate and resolve discrepancies, escalating issues where necessary</li><li>Contribute to reporting requirements, including statistical returns and financial summaries</li></ul><h4><strong>General Duties</strong></h4><ul><li>Ensure confidentiality and security of all financial records and documentation</li><li>Respond promptly to correspondence and queries in line with departmental procedures</li><li>Support adherence to financial deadlines and reporting cycles</li><li>Participate in general office duties, including processing mail and issuing financial documents</li><li>Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across departments</li><li>Engage in training and development activities and performance reviews</li></ul><hr /><h3><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></h3><ul><li><p><strong>Qualification &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>4 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English and Maths (or equivalent) <strong>AND</strong> at least 1 year's administrative/clerical experience<br /> <strong>OR</strong></li><li>A minimum of 2 years' administrative/clerical experience</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent systems)</li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Other Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>A full, valid UK driving licence with access to a car (reasonable adjustments will be considered in line with disability requirements)</li></ul></li></ul><hr /><h3><strong>What's on Offer</strong></h3><ul><li>Competitive hourly rate of £12.75</li><li>Valuable experience within a reputable organisation</li><li>Supportive team environment</li><li>Opportunity to enhance financial and administrative skills</li></ul></div><p> </p><div> </div>
