With reports of outstanding support from management and a fun, lively and welcoming team to work with it is really refreshing to hear how much they all genuinely enjoy their job.&nbsp;</p>

<h4><strong>Why did you want to go for a job in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>I wanted a new and exciting experience and the opportunity to meet new people.</p>
<h4><strong>What does a normal day look like?</strong></h4>
<p>It is&nbsp;pretty fast&nbsp;paced, it can be&nbsp;quite&nbsp;full on when we have busy&nbsp;days,&nbsp;but we do get time off to hang out in between calls, and&nbsp;we do spend time every day working on new initiatives.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>How did you find the application process?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>There was quite a lot of paperwork and the background checks were&nbsp;pretty intense&nbsp;but if you are organised and listen to what they need to see it is not a difficult process. When I went for my assessment there was an accident on route which meant most of the people didn&rsquo;t turn&nbsp;up,&nbsp;so I was taken straight onto the phone to do a test call&nbsp;which fast tracked my application process a bit.</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>It&nbsp;has to&nbsp;be the customers,&nbsp;they are all so lovely it&rsquo;s really nice.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the&nbsp;worst part about working in a call&nbsp;centre?</strong></h4>
<p>You do get some people who are not so lovely every now and&nbsp;then,&nbsp;but you just need patience and empathy and the call is usually resolved quite quickly.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What surprised you most when you started working there?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>I was surprised that&nbsp;there was not&nbsp;a more intensive training requirement. I did&nbsp;some classroom training and then on the phone training a couple of&nbsp;times,&nbsp;but&nbsp;I was kind of thrown in at the deep end. You learn the most when you are doing the&nbsp;job,&nbsp;so it wasn&rsquo;t a problem I was just surprised.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What were you most worried about?</strong></h4>
<p>Not getting it right, you need to know a little about quite a lot of&nbsp;things,&nbsp;so I was concerned I would keep getting it wrong until I learned everything.</p>
<h4><strong>What were you most excited for?</strong></h4>
<p>The development aspect, we were told about all of the&nbsp;cross department&nbsp;opportunities&nbsp;and so I was excited to be able to progress in my work.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your team like to work with?</strong></h4>
<p>The team is&nbsp;fab, I have made some&nbsp;really good&nbsp;friends.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What kind of supervisory support do you receive?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>We get lots of ongoing support,&nbsp;we have a classroom refresh every few months and in between if there is anything you are not sure about the managers will always explain everything to you.</p>
<h4><strong>What skills do you&nbsp;think you have gained?</strong></h4>
<p>I have gained the most skills&nbsp;in tech, I have learned a lot about internet banking and credit cards, much more than I knew before.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your working environment like?</strong></h4>
<p>It is a nice friendly place to work, when we have low call&nbsp;volumes&nbsp;we have the opportunity to chat&nbsp;between ourselves.</p>
<h4><strong>Are social activities organised outside of work?</strong> </h4>
<p>Yeah, as a team we go out together twice a month.</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best call you&nbsp;remember taking?</strong></h4>
<p>Only the other week, I had a call from a lady who had power of attorney, she needed&nbsp;to resolve the financial&nbsp;affairs,&nbsp;but she was confused by the whole process. I spent over an hour on the call with her&nbsp;helping her to get everything sorted out. Once we had&nbsp;finished&nbsp;she asked to speak to my manager&nbsp;and said how grateful she was for all of my help, she even offered to provide a reference for me if I ever needed one. I didn&rsquo;t really do much, I just did my job and helped her&nbsp;out,&nbsp;but it is&nbsp;really nice&nbsp;to know that I made such an impact on someone&rsquo;s day.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst call you&nbsp;have taken?</strong></h4>
<p>I can honestly say I don&rsquo;t remember taking a worst call, you don&rsquo;t take anything home with you at the end of the day, even if you need to help a customer who is frustrated once you are done you are moving on to the next call and they quickly disappear out of your head.</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?</strong></h4>
<p>Lots of people expect the job to be different, if you can persevere through the application process it will be worth it, just stick with it.</p>

<p>Yes&nbsp;I think I would.</p>

<p>I had never done something like this before, it was something new to try.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What does a normal day look like?</strong></h4>
<p>I spend most of the day on the phone&nbsp;taking calls. We have a laugh and it is not too serious. It can be really easy going, you just have to get the job done.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was pretty&nbsp;stressful,&nbsp;but it is fine if you provide the information they need and are organised about it. Really do listen to the advice from Blue arrow, they try to help you through it so much.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Helping people and educating them about managing their money.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Maybe the angry customers but there really are not many&nbsp;of them.</p>
<h4><strong>What surprised you most when you started working there?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>It was all new to me so, everything! I didn’t know what to expect.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What were you most worried about?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>I was most worried about&nbsp;getting used to the&nbsp;computers,&nbsp;but it turned out to be really easy especially with the training I was given.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your team like to work with?</strong></h4>
<p>It is a great team, we have a good laugh&nbsp;between calls and during the team meetings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There is lots of support, probably the most I have ever received from a job and definitely the best management support I have ever had.</p>

<p>I have learned&nbsp;the most about money, fraud and credit cards. I didn’t know anything about it before.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yes, each team do their own Christmas and Birthday celebrations but there are so many other opportunities as well like charitable events and football tournaments to get involved in.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>How did you get your permanent position after starting in a temporary role?</strong>&nbsp;</h4>
<p>I thought&nbsp;maybe I was an exception&nbsp;as&nbsp;there are others&nbsp;that have been there over 2 years and not been made&nbsp;permanent, but I really have put in the work, I have gone for every opportunity available to me and it just shows that the hard work and effort really does get noticed.</p>
<h4>&nbsp;<strong>What is the best call you&nbsp;remember taking?</strong></h4>
<p>I took a call from a&nbsp;lady;&nbsp;her husband had been in an&nbsp;accident,&nbsp;so we were trying to sort out all of her finances out for her and move money around. It was hugely satisfying to help someone in a situation like that.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst call you&nbsp;have taken?</strong></h4>
<p>I had one person who got really angry when I had to tell him that what he wanted, was not possible.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?</strong></h4>
<p>Do it&nbsp;100%, I left a permanent position and at first, I was worried about it being a temporary role but as I settled I worried less and less.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Would you recommend your job to a friend?</strong>&nbsp;</h4>
<p>100%, I have done already.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dave&nbsp;has been a customer service advisor for Lloyds Banking Group since&nbsp;April 2018 and has been taken on&nbsp;permanently.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Why did you want to go for a job in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>To be honest I was a bit lost after studying chemical engineering at&nbsp;uni, I worked in a few bars and places like&nbsp;that,&nbsp;but I wanted something that I could really enjoy and be good at.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What does a normal day look like?</strong></h4>
<p>We start off with a morning meeting and then move onto working on set cases. In my role I am not on the phone&nbsp;all of&nbsp;the time,&nbsp;I am analysing new businesses and working through their applications.</p>
<h4><strong>&nbsp;How did you find the application process?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>I found it&nbsp;smooth and easy to navigate.&nbsp;They did need to be thorough but providing&nbsp;you&nbsp;are organised&nbsp;and get the information together clearly then it is not too bad.&nbsp;I think maybe it depends on your personal situation and how much back ground needs to be done.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>In my job it is the&nbsp;first hand&nbsp;customer service, working with new businesses, people are generally excited. I also really like the colleague interaction, it is a&nbsp;really collaborative&nbsp;environment and I work with genuinely happy people all of the time.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the&nbsp;worst part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>I have not experienced any downside myself, but I think that if you are not the kind of person who will push themselves to progress then it could feel quite repetitive being in one place&nbsp;all of&nbsp;the&nbsp;time,&nbsp;but the job really is what you make it.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What surprised you most when you started working there?</strong></h4>
<p>I was surprised that it was not as pressurised as I expected it to be, it is genuinely customer focused, a call takes as long as it takes to get the best result for the customer. You are given&nbsp;really achievable&nbsp;goals that are really tailored to you.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your team like to work with?</strong></h4>
<p>The team is&nbsp;really good, they were very welcoming. I was&nbsp;really lucky&nbsp;with who my manager is, they are all about making the greater group better, sharing knowledge and working together to make&nbsp;it a great place to work.</p>
<h4><strong>What skills do you&nbsp;think you have gained?</strong></h4>
<p>I feel I am a lot more open and personable then I was, with a background in chemical engineering I never needed to focus on my communications skills.</p>
<h4><strong>Is there room for career progression or&nbsp;self development?</strong></h4>
<p>I got off to a bit of a bumpy start but&nbsp;with the help of my manager and the range of support that was available through training it soon turned around. There is so much scope for improving yourself that I know I will just keep getting better and better.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best call you&nbsp;remember taking?</strong></h4>
<p>I remember helping this one guy who needed to deposit a 45k payment or he was going to lose a contract.&nbsp;I was&nbsp;really happy&nbsp;to know that I had taken what started as a frustrating experience for him&nbsp;and turned it into a positive experience just by taking ownership of the&nbsp;situation and doing whatever I could to help.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst call you&nbsp;have taken?</strong></h4>
<p>I have not had a bad call to be honest they are not frequent in my department, I know that there are people who can fly of the handle but just by making sure you are paying attention to your tone of voice and remaining&nbsp;professional you can always bring a call around.</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?</strong></h4>
<p>It is a really good experience and is certainly a learning curve.&nbsp;It is a great opportunity to step into a customer focused environment&nbsp;and there is so much opportunity for career progression. People really are there to help you do well.</p>

<p>Yes,&nbsp;a friend recommended it to&nbsp;me,&nbsp;so I would&nbsp;definitely recommend&nbsp;it on to someone else.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&nbsp;have worked in a similar role&nbsp;before,&nbsp;so I was comfortable with the work and I could use my experience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Each day is different, I tend to get in a little bit earlier to set up, get a coffee and get ready to start my day.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was pretty intense with the telephone interviews and the&nbsp;role playing&nbsp;scenarios but they do give you a lot of guidance so you just have to stick with it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The best parts have to be the people and also the flexibility of the job.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I was expecting it to be more&nbsp;serious,&nbsp;but it is actually really open, friendly and relaxed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I was worried about how I would fit in with the team and how quickly I would learn because I tend to do better with practical skills.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It’s a really lovely bunch, really sociable. They are also very&nbsp;experienced,&nbsp;so they make great co-workers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>We get lots of support and even at the beginning when it was difficult to take in the information my manager was really approachable, I had no problem going to them for help.&nbsp;We do have monthly reviews as well to make sure we are ok and progressing well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mostly around managing money and banking, I didn’t know too much about it&nbsp;before,&nbsp;but I really have learned a lot.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It’s really fun, laid back and upbeat. It is not target driven at all they just focus on your own abilities and set their expectations to that.</p>

<p>The funniest was an Australian woman, she didn’t have a bank account she just wanted some information. So was so funny, inappropriate, but fun.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I took a call from a man who was angry, but he was not listening when I was saying that he had to go through security before I could help him. He kept refusing to go through security and demanded to speak to my manager who told him the same thing I did, “you have to clear security”.</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?</strong></h4>
<p>Go for it!&nbsp;It is really flexible and there is lots of overtime available.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I really wanted to do something different after spending 20 years working in fundraising it was time for a change and I saw an advert for Lloyds Banking Group.</p>
<h4><strong>What does a normal day look like?</strong></h4>
<p>Most of my day is spent on the phone, all of my conversations are about helping people with something. We have short breaks in between calls.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>How did you find the application process?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>It&nbsp;seemed quite intense, they wanted lots of info and then extra info on top of that so there was lots of communication about it. It was a bit&nbsp;challenging,&nbsp;but it is understandable why they have to be&nbsp;so&nbsp;thorough.</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>I find it&nbsp;completely&nbsp;stress free, especially&nbsp;compared to my job before. It is&nbsp;just&nbsp;really nice to leave work knowing you have done everything&nbsp;you had to do, you don&rsquo;t leave and still think about all of the things you need to get done.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the&nbsp;worst part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>Probably the rigid schedule, you do have set breaks and it is quite regimented for someone like me who came&nbsp;from a role that had more&nbsp;freedom&nbsp;but you do get used to it quite quickly.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What surprised you most when you started working there?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>The dress code was quite a surprise, I thought with it being a banking group that it would be&nbsp;stricter&nbsp;but it is really relaxed.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What were you most worried about?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>I was worried&nbsp;about the change.&nbsp;It is always a bit nerve-wracking when you start somewhere new.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your team like to work with?</strong></h4>
<p>They are such a great team, they are a good laugh. It is so much fun, it is a real breath of fresh air for me.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What kind of supervisory support do you receive?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>In our team there are about 12-15 people and we have a team manager who is there to support us with anything we might need. Outside of our immediate manager there is a really big support system of people who are all keen to be there for you.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What skills do you&nbsp;think you have gained?</strong></h4>
<p>I have learned not to take things too personally&nbsp;when&nbsp;I may have caught the rough end of someone having a bad day. Before I&nbsp;probably would&nbsp;have taken it to heart. I also think I have really learned how to diffuse a situation and resolve problems&nbsp;quickly.</p>
<h4><strong>Have you made many friends at work?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>Yes, I have made lots of friends of all ages, they are so friendly. We go out for drinks together, and we are organising our Christmas do.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yes,&nbsp;I was just taken on as&nbsp;permanent, it has worked out really well for me. They implied at the start that if we worked hard it might be a possibility, so I just did my best.</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best call you&nbsp;remember taking?</strong></h4>
<p>There is one that stuck in my mind, I got a call from an elderly gentleman. The call wasn&rsquo;t too complicated, and it was resolved pretty&nbsp;fast,&nbsp;but I stayed on the call with him as it was so clear that he wanted to chat. He was so overwhelmed by the kindness and the time I had taken to talk with him, it was really nice to hear that I had made his day.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst call you&nbsp;have taken?</strong></h4>
<p>You do get people who are just unreasonable and no matter what you do sometimes you just can&rsquo;t resolve it in a way that they are happy with, it is not very often at all though.&nbsp;You can escalate an issue and we do get a huge amount of support from management for any call that we are unsure about.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?</strong></h4>
<p>It can take a while to get used to it but once you are settled in the days go really quickly. It is a job where you know you can go home at the end of it feeling good about what you have achieved that day.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Would you recommend your job to a friend?</strong></h4>
<p>&nbsp;I recommended it to anyone I talk to who say they feel they need to change their job to something stress free and flexible.&nbsp;</p>

<h4><strong>Why did you want to go for a job in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>I was looking for a&nbsp;full time&nbsp;position and some of my family had worked for Lloyds Banking Group in the past.</p>
<h4><strong>What does a normal day look like?</strong></h4>
<p>I work in wallet pay and internet&nbsp;banking,&nbsp;so mornings are usually pretty&nbsp;quiet,&nbsp;and it starts to pick up throughout the day. Most of my calls are about using internet banking.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>How did you find the application process?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>I applied to Lloyds Banking Group directly but missed their intake&nbsp;so&nbsp;skipped straight through to the assessments stage which was absolutely fine. The watchdog stage is a bit lengthy and can be tricky if you don&rsquo;t have all of your information easily to hand.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>Probably the team, and my manager. They make it a really nice place to work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The complaining customers are probably the only bit that could be describe as a worst bit but there really are not that many.</p>
<h4><strong>What surprised you most when you started working there?</strong></h4>
<p>I was expecting it to be more sales driven but it is nothing like that in reality.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What were you most worried about?</strong>&nbsp;</h4>
<p>I was mostly concerned about getting my confidence up to deal with customers all of the time without getting flustered.&nbsp;What were you most excited for? Getting into a routine, with my previous part time job my shifts were all over the&nbsp;place&nbsp;so it is really nice to know what my shifts are going to be. Also, meeting new people was exciting.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your team like to work with?</strong></h4>
<p>There is quite a range of people, most of them are younger, in their 20&rsquo;s. They are all really nice and easy to get along with.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When we are on calls we get tons of support whenever we need it and there are lots of manager on the floor who will always help if I have a question.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have gained mostly communication skills, knowing how to use positive language is a big part of that. I have also learned how to cope under pressure and problem solve.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>It can be quite noisy when it is busy because you are all in one place sat parallel to each other but it is a nice busy atmosphere.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yes, I have upskilled since I started in March. There is lots of opportunity for progressing if you put the work in, you can help to train other people, or even move into other brands under the Group.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best call you remember taking?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>Almost all of the calls are great, I get to speak to so many different people. Once I spent over an hour talking to someone, we had such a laugh, it is really nice to be able to provide that bit of company for someone who needs it, even if it is just to have a general conversation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst call you have taken?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>The only one that really stands out is a guy who had failed to pass security, he refused to go back through it and even though I had told him I couldn&rsquo;t help him if he go back through security, his verbal abuse got a little bit personal.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>Go for it! Every day is different, even the calls are so varied that you are not just taking the same call over and over again. The job is flexible, the pay is good, and there are plenty of opportunities for overtime if that is what you want.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<h4><strong>Why did you want to go for a job in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p>It is something I have done before and I really enjoyed the Banking environment. Also, I saw that the role involved helping customers with their questions not selling to them.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>How did you find the application process?</strong></h4>
<p>I found it fairly straight forward, I mean it was quite a long process because they wanted to do background and financial checks along with a heap of my previous addresses, but it was very well explained so all I had to do was get all of the information together.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best part about working in a call centre?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>I think it is the people who I work with, who are really nice and friendly. Also, everything is set up to make you as comfortable as possible. Even the desks can be tailored to your own needs. It makes it a really comfortable environment to work in.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst part about working in a call centre?</strong></h4>
<p> So far, the only downside is that my role is still temporary therefore the insecurity can be a little unsettling. I know that quite a few people have been taken on permanently, so I am hopeful of that opportunity. Right now, I would say that is the only part I can think of that isn&rsquo;t good.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What surprised you most when you started working there?&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>Personally, I knew what to expect because of my previous experience but I also think I was really well prepared from the 6 weeks training that I was given when I first started.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What were you most worried about?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>Definitely speaking over the phone all day. Gauging people&rsquo;s emotions and reactions is completely different over the phone, so I was a bit nervous about developing those skills fast enough.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is your team like to work with?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>They are really nice people. We spend time together at lunch time and we chat in between our calls. There has been quite a high turnover of people since I started, mainly from people choosing to leave for another permanent job. That is just natural in a temporary role but I do still socialise with those people outside of work.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What kind of support do you receive from your managers?</strong></h4>
<p>My line manager is just brilliant you know, always&nbsp;really happy&nbsp;to help and&nbsp;very&nbsp;accommodating. But even if they are not around there is always someone to ask if you are not sure about something.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Is there room for career progression or&nbsp;self development?</strong></h4>
<p>We have one to one meetings every three months where you set out what it is that you want to work on and put a plan in place for how to achieve it. One of mine is to be taken on permanently if the opportunity is available and so I know what I need to do to&nbsp;give myself the best chance of that.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the best call you&nbsp;remember taking?</strong></h4>
<p>There isn&rsquo;t really one&nbsp;in particular but&nbsp;I really like helping older people who find themselves in awkward financial situations. It is really nice to help wherever possible. You get to do your best to make a situation better for someone.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What is the worst call you&nbsp;have taken?</strong></h4>
<p>There was a known fraudster who made a habit out of being difficult. He was a serial complainer who would&nbsp;be abusive&nbsp;just to see what he could get from the situation. I quickly got to recognise him and know what to expect and I think he probably knew my voice in the end too and stopped&nbsp;bothering to try it with me.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What would you tell someone who was thinking about applying for a job like yours?</strong></h4>
<p>I would&nbsp;definitely say&nbsp;go for it, it is a really flexible job and a great place to work.&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Would you recommend your job to a friend?&nbsp;</strong></h4>
<p>Yes, I have done already!&nbsp;</p>
