Do you enjoy driving? Then why not get paid for doing something you love. Turn your passion for the open road into a role working for one of the country’s most successful brands. BT has a number of delivery driver jobs available, and specifically with BT Supply Chain (BTSC). Having partnered with BT for twenty years, Blue Arrow is pleased to be offering Van Driver vacancies on behalf of this UK digital and telecoms giant.

As a Van Driver for BT you will provide road vehicle driving services throughout the UK. The organisation prides itself on exceptional service, so ideally, you will be committed to delivering not only goods to help with the smooth running of BT’s everyday operations, but excellent levels of service too.

You will have good verbal communication skills in order to build relationships with key stakeholders at both collection and delivery locations. Good written skills are also asked for as you will be responsible for completing paperwork, files and logs associated with BT’s collection and delivery processes.

Working efficiently and meeting deadlines are both important assets for this role, as is the ability to remain calm and professional with potentially dissatisfied stakeholders if and when you are unavoidably delayed.

Attention to detail is something else we are looking for as the ability to carefully plan the most efficient routes and keep an eye on your vehicle to foresee any mechanical issues can help to prevent problems.

Locations and requirements will vary, but responsibilities will include driving to and from BTSC’s two national distribution centres; one being based in Magna Park in Lutterworth and the other in Northallerton.

Both distribution centres have onsite account teams which share nine distributed transport depots, all requiring driving support. There are a total of 98 further forward stock locations and your role will involve travelling to any of them, in line with the requirements of the BTSC/account teams.

The role of Van Driver is perfect for you if you are someone who prefers a varied role, which will not only involve travelling to lots of different locations but will provide variation in the time of day worked too. Shift patterns will be dependent upon BTSC’s differing requirements and projects. Therefore, Van Drivers are expected to be available to carry out their services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for any of their sites.

The standard working week for BT’s delivery driver jobs is 36 hours, however drivers are paid in accordance with sign in sheets to allow for variations in daily routes.
