If you are a licenced Class 1 Driver looking for a new role, we are long-standing partners of BT and have some of the best UK driving jobs to get you on the road to success.

If you are ready to put your foot on the gas and deliver great customer service as well as goods for BT’s Supply Chain (BTSC) division, then we would like to hear from you.

The leading digital and telecoms giant is looking for people to take on a diverse role which will see you travelling between numerous locations including BTSC’s two national distribution centres which are situated in Northallerton and Magna Park in Lutterworth. Further destinations include nine dedicated transport depots, and you may be asked to travel to any one of the organisation’s 98 forward stock locations.

You will be a licenced Class 1 Driver, responsible for driving Category C & E vehicles to multiple destinations across the UK. To provide you with an in-depth insight into the company and your key role within it, BT provides all new starters with an induction. Inductions are different lengths for different roles, but last for two eight-hour days for Class 1 Drivers.

If you can combine great driving skills with interpersonal skills, this role could be for you. BT requires individuals who not only have the ability to drive to the highest standards but who are also able to uphold the company’s reputation for providing outstanding customer care. We are therefore searching for driving professionals who take pride in all aspects of their work.

This is a key role in overseeing the safe and on-time delivery of goods for BTSC which will be fundamental in the successful day to day running of its operations. For this reason, you will be reliable and trustworthy, as well as someone who takes accountability. You will be able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be able to remain composed and professional even when dealing with situations beyond their control, such as heavy traffic and unhappy stakeholders in the event of unavoidably delayed timescales.

A good knowledge of the UK’s layout, motorways and key routes will be advantageous, as will some mechanical understanding of Class C & E vehicles. If you have the capability to recognise potential mechanical issues ahead of them becoming major problems, this will be key in maintaining the most efficient service, and of course, ensuring the health and safety of yourself and others.

Further expertise essential to these UK driving jobs include communications skills – both written and verbal. Written skills will be important for the accurate completion of any paperwork related to your collections and deliveries, and good verbal communication will help in both efficiency and building rapport.

Adaptability is an additional quality that is beneficial due to varying shift patterns and the wide range of locations you will be required to drive to and from, although the standard working week totals 36 hours. A sign in sheet system is used when calculating pay, to allow for variation in routes.
