Job Title: Operations Technician (Fuel)Location: CramlingtonDuration: 3-5 months (potential to extend - long-term sick cover)Hours: Monday-Friday, 06:30 - 15:00Pay: £13.00 per hour (£19.50 per hour overtime rate) OverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Fuel Handling Operative to support our client's operations in Cramlington. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established industrial site, working as part of a skilled operations team in a safety-critical environment.This role offers consistent weekday hours with the opportunity to boost earnings through optional weekend overtime when available. There is also strong potential for extension beyond the initial contract period. Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Fuel Handling Team Leader / Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in the safe and efficient running of fuel handling operations across site. Duties include (but are not limited to):<ul><li>Managing all aspects of fuel handling operations, from fuel reception through to by-product removal, ensuring safety and reliability at all times</li><li>Operating fuel handling and by-product plant equipment within safety, environmental and operational limits</li><li>Carrying out daily duties such as:<ul><li>Routine LOLER checks and vehicle pre-use inspections</li><li>Fuel handling system operations</li><li>General plant inspections</li><li>Monitoring traffic management and weighbridge systems</li></ul></li><li>Conducting fuel quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications</li><li>Assisting with monthly audits and stocktakes of on-site fuel</li><li>Providing hands-on support to operations and maintenance teams, including:<ul><li>Basic fault finding</li><li>First-line maintenance and defect resolution</li></ul></li><li>Operating the site weighbridge to accurately record deliveries</li><li>Recording all tasks, defects, and maintenance activities in the CMMS system</li></ul> Candidate RequirementsWe are keen to speak with candidates who demonstrate:<ul><li>A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards</li><li>Ability to work proactively and as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial setting</li><li>Good attention to detail and reliability</li></ul>Desirable (but not essential):<ul><li>Experience operating mobile plant (e.g. loading shovels, telehandlers, etc.)</li><li>Previous experience in fuel handling, waste management, or heavy industry environments</li></ul> What's on Offer<ul><li>Competitive hourly rate with enhanced overtime pay</li><li>Structured working hours with early finish each day</li><li>Opportunity to gain experience in a highly regulated, technically interesting environment</li><li>Potential for longer-term employment</li></ul> If you are looking for a practical, hands-on role with strong team support and the opportunity to build your experience in an essential operational function, we would like to hear from you.Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
