They are currently looking for multiple joiners to undertake repair works &amp; fitting of fire doors on site, along with other maintenance jobs to support their education facility. You will be helping and supporting the site to improve their facilities, along with working closely with other trades within the Campus to coordinate the necessary works to be carried out. Main duties and responsibilitiesCarrying out a full range of repairs, maintenance, and planned improvement duties with the emphasis on multi skilled works across the University's estate.* Changing and fitting door hinges* Intumescent strips* Adjusting gaps in doors to ensure sealed correctly in case of a fire.* Installing dropdown seals* Replacing handles* Carpentry and joinery work* Locksmith Work* Changing door closers* Always work within the relevant Health and Safety legislation and guidelines when carrying out work, including the preparation of work areas and the use of Personal Protective Equipment* Always ensure the safe use and storage of tools and equipment* Carry out Risk Assessments as required, including completing permits for work and checking relevant registers e.g., Asbestos* Liaise with the stores department to ensure the correct materials and equipment are available* Carry out works as required and directed, which may include working in confined spaces or at height, or in noisy or adverse weather conditions* Working to provide the highest quality customer service within well-established Key Performance Indicators.* Assist with the maintenance of university vehicles used for the purpose of carrying out works* Provide flexibility within working practices and undertake any task that is within the individual's competence and where it is practical and economic to do so.* Erection of access equipment, use of mobile access platforms, working at heights The ideal candidates:* Are hardworking, team players and not fazed by working outdoors* Have access to own tools* Able to communicate effectively and follow directions* Are punctual and reliable - turn up for work every day, on time throughout their assignment* Are physically able to carry out physical work* Adaptable to pick up a variety of tasks as instructed by management Requirements:* Safety boots &amp; PPE* A woodwork machinery qualification according to PUWER* Substantial, appropriate post qualification experience* Experience in first and second fix joinery* Experience of bench machinery* Experience of reading construction drawings* Full experience of working as a Joiner.* Ability to work alone when required Benefits:* Dedicated consultant* Weekly pay* No paper timesheets (clock in and out via our app!)* Holiday accrual and pay* All day shifts offered* Monday to Friday shift patterns* Immediate start dates* Christmas and New Year off If you are looking for your next full time ongoing position, please apply online by clicking APPLY today, we will be in touch to discuss your application and next steps.Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
