About the roleWe are currently recruiting for a reliable and motivated Overhead Crane Operative on a temp to perm basis to join our client based in MiddlesbroughThe successful candidate will have experience of working within heavy engineering and also hold a Counterbalance FLT licenseThis hands‑on role is vital to ensuring the safe and efficient movement of steel and finished parts throughout the site, supporting production and dispatch activities. Job duties<ul><li>Loading and unloading vehicles safely</li><li>Pre‑picking steel plate for production and moving materials to and from stock and machinery</li><li>Operating remote‑controlled overhead cranes to move steel plates and finished components</li><li>Moving produced parts to dispatch and preparing them for shipment</li><li>Supplying steel plates to machine operators as required</li><li>Marking incoming steel with unique identification and coding offcuts returned to stock</li><li>Assisting with burning scrap skeletons using oxy‑fuel burning torches</li><li>Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across work areas</li><li>Ensuring safe use of machinery and strict adherence to health &amp; safety standards</li><li>Supporting other duties as required as and when required</li></ul> Please note due to license restrictions, we are only able to accept valid certificates for the Overhead Crane, though inhouse tickets for the Counterbalance will be considered Hours<ul><li>Full‑time, Monday-Friday</li><li>Early finish on a Friday</li><li>44hrs per week</li></ul>Salary<ul><li>£12.71ph - £14.40ph</li><li>Uplifted rates after a successful period of training within the business</li></ul>Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
