Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional dining experiences across our restaurant, bar, and event spaces. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented chef ready to step up or an existing Senior Sous Chef looking for a fresh challenge in a supportive and high‑quality environment.</p><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Support the Head Chef in the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service across all food outlets.</li><li>Lead, motivate, and mentor the kitchen team, promoting a positive and professional working culture.</li><li>Assist in designing seasonal menus, contributing creative ideas and ensuring dishes meet brand and guest expectations.</li><li>Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.</li><li>Oversee ordering, stock rotation, waste management, and supplier relationships to ensure cost‑effective operations.</li><li>Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are met and maintained, including compliance with HACCP and hotel policies.</li><li>Take charge of the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring seamless continuity of service.</li><li>Support training and development of junior chefs to help grow their skills and confidence.</li></ul><h2><strong>About You</strong></h2><ul><li>Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel, premium dining, or high‑volume environment.</li><li>Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.</li><li>A passion for fresh, high‑quality food and a keen eye for detail.</li><li>Excellent organisational and communication skills.</li><li>Knowledge of current food trends and a desire to innovate.</li><li>Understanding of kitchen financials-including GP margins, wastage, and labour control.</li><li>Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across different service periods.</li></ul><h2><strong>What We Offer</strong></h2><ul><li>Competitive salary between £35k-£38k, based on experience.</li><li>42.5‑hour working week with fair and transparent rota planning.</li><li>Opportunities for training, development, and progression within the hotel group.</li><li>Staff discounts and additional hotel‑related benefits.</li><li>A supportive, friendly, and professional working environment.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.</p>
