<p>We are seeking a reliable and proactive part time Premises Officer to join our school and help ensure a safe, clean, and well‑maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will take pride in the appearance and smooth running of the school site and play a key role in creating a positive environment for learning.</p><p> </p><p>Hours of work are Monday to Friday 7am till 12.30pm</p><hr /><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><h3><strong>Site Maintenance &amp; Repairs</strong></h3><ul><li>Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and DIY tasks across the school buildings and grounds.</li><li>Identify and report larger maintenance issues to management or external contractors.</li><li>Monitor and maintain the condition of classrooms, corridors, toilets, and external areas.</li></ul><h3> </h3><h3><strong>Cleaning &amp; Facilities Management</strong></h3><ul><li>Oversee cleaning standards and support cleaning staff where necessary.</li><li>Maintain stock of cleaning and maintenance materials.</li><li>Ensure the site is clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.</li></ul><h3><strong>Grounds &amp; Outdoor Areas</strong></h3><ul><li>Maintain outdoor areas, including litter picking, gritting pathways in winter, and basic gardening.</li><li>Ensure playgrounds, car parks, and entrances remain safe and well‑kept.</li></ul><h3><strong>General Duties</strong></h3><ul><li>Set up rooms for events, meetings, and school activities.</li><li>Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, and general caretaking tasks.</li><li>Respond quickly to maintenance requests and urgent issues.</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>Person Specification</strong></h2><h3><strong>Essential</strong></h3><ul><li>Experience in a premises, cleaning, caretaking, or maintenance role.</li><li>Good practical skills (DIY, basic plumbing, decorating, minor electrical work).</li><li>Strong awareness of health &amp; safety.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and able to take initiative.</li><li>Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.</li></ul><h3><strong>Desirable</strong></h3><ul><li>Previous experience in a school environment.</li><li>Knowledge of site compliance checks (e.g., Legionella, fire safety).</li><li>DBS must be on the update service</li></ul><p>Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.</p>
