Event Chef - £32,000 to £35,000 - Catering Company - Southampton
Essential: You must drive and have your own transport.
Although your base will be in Southampton, you will regularly travel across Hampshire for events.
A full UK driving licence is required, as you will be expected to drive company vans.
About the Role
A dynamic and expanding event catering company near Southampton is seeking an Event Chef to join their talented and passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a business known for delivering exceptional hospitality and high‑quality cuisine across a wide variety of events.
This role offers plenty of variety and no two weeks look the same:
- Prep days: Structured daytime hours in the production kitchen
- Event days: Travel to venues and run events from start to finish
- Seasonality: Summer is the peak season, involving evenings and weekends; quieter winter months offer a more balanced schedule with time back in lieu
You will receive strong opportunities for career progression, ongoing training, and a salary review upon successful completion of your 3‑month probation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to company standards
- Deliver food service in the correct style and format for each event
- Ensure high levels of quality, consistency, and portion control
- Manage stock levels and complete accurate ordering
- Uphold all health & safety and food hygiene requirements
- Represent the company professionally at all events
What You Need to Succeed
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Creativity, passion, and a genuine love for food and events
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (advantageous)
- Full driving licence and own transport (essential)
