Junior Sous Chef - Coastal Restaurant, Padstow

Location: Padstow

Pay Rate: £16.00-£16.99 per hour (including tronc)

Hours: 43 hours per week (across 5 days)

Overtime: Paid monthly

Operation: Hotel restaurant (dinner‑only) + Outdoor seasonal restaurant


About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a stunning coastal restaurant in Padstow, combining a dinner‑only hotel restaurant with a vibrant outdoor dining space open from Easter to the end of September.

You'll work across two exciting concepts:

Hotel Restaurant

  • Open evenings only
  • Up to 130 covers per night

Outdoor Restaurant

  • Features a grill, pizza oven, and seafood-focused outdoor kitchen
  • Open seasonally (Easter-September)
  • Up to 300 covers per day

We're looking for a talented chef with strong cooking ability who can lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen team, while also stepping onto a section when required. This role is hands-on, energetic, and perfect for someone who excels in both quality and high-volume environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support services across both restaurant operations.
  • Run the outdoor restaurant during busy seasonal services.
  • Cook to a high standard and confidently run a section.
  • Manage, support, and motivate the kitchen team.
  • Maintain quality, consistency, food safety, and organisation.
  • Assist with menu input, specials, and seasonal offerings.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong cooking background - hotels, grills, coastal dining, or high-volume restaurants ideal.
  • Confident team leader, able to motivate and manage staff.
  • Comfortable working in busy environments (up to 300 covers).
  • Flexible, hands-on, and calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
