Housing Support Officer - Stoke-on-Trent

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Housing Support Officer to join our clients team supporting households placed in Temporary Accommodation across the Stoke area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, independence, and making a meaningful difference to individuals during periods of change.


About the Role

As a Housing Support Officer, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of several temporary accommodation properties, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and welcoming for new residents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing move-ins and move-outs, including property preparation and documentation.
  • Conducting regular property and safety inspections, ensuring compliance with housing standards.
  • Carrying out welfare checks to support residents and signpost additional services where required.
  • Coordinating efficient turnarounds of properties between occupants, including arranging cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Recording property conditions, reporting issues, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve property-related issues promptly.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, dependable, and confident working independently.
  • A strong communicator who can engage professionally with residents and contractors.
  • Able to manage a varied caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Flexible with working hours to meet service needs (approx. 30 hours per week).

Essential requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Enhanced DBS

Desirable:

  • A maintenance, repairs, or trade background (e.g., basic knowledge of repairs, property upkeep, or building safety) - highly advantageous due to the practical nature of the role.
  • Previous experience in housing, property management, or community support.
