Planning Support Officer needed!Hourly Rate: £13.53 to 13.75phContract Duration: Until June 2026Location: Whitwick Business Centre, LE67 Main duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>Supporting the Planning Team by carrying out the administrative and technical work of the team, assisting in the processing of planning applications and associated applications as well as planning enforcement cases and enquiries.</li></ul><ul><li>Use the Council's computerised information system (Uniform) for registration and validation of planning applications and enforcement enquiries and cases, carry out consultation procedures as directed by Planning and Enforcement Officers, record all information received on the system, and generate planning application decision notices.</li></ul><ul><li>Use the Council's document imaging system (IDOX) to scan and index all planning applications and enforcement documents and plans and monitor the system to ensure the details are available to view online.</li></ul><ul><li>Preparation of Planning Committee agendas and presentations</li></ul><ul><li>Ordering items for the team and invoicing for purchases as required.</li></ul>General responsibilities:<ul><li>To always see the service through the eyes of the customer and make suggestions for improvement where appropriate</li><li>To carry out duties efficiently and effectively</li><li>To constantly challenge own performance and make improvements</li><li>To help build pride, passion and reputation for NWLDC</li><li>To participate in the Council's appraisal scheme and to undertake any necessary training and development as identified for the job role</li></ul><ul><li>To ensure high standards of health and safety practice are maintained in accordance with council policy, including the health and safety and welfare at work of themselves and colleagues.</li></ul><ul><li>To promote the Council's Equality and Diversity Policy to ensure service provision and employment practices are non-discriminatory.</li><li>To undertake any other reasonable tasks appropriate to the grading of the post and as required by the line manager</li><li>To assist in the event of a civil emergency in any way as instructed</li></ul>Apply today!
