£14.74 per hour - £30,900 per annum
Full‑time | 40 hours per week | 52.2 weeks per year
Are you a passionate and skilled chef looking for a stable, well‑structured role with great work‑life balance? Join our contract catering team in Winchester, where you'll help deliver high‑quality, fresh, nutritious food in a professional and supportive environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to required standards, specifications, and portion sizes
- Running your own section of the kitchen to consistently high levels
- Ensuring all dishes meet strict food safety, hygiene, and client compliance standards
- Following food information regulations and completing food safety checks
- Supporting, training, and directing Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
- Recovering and storing food correctly to minimise waste
- Assisting with food orders, stock rotation, delivery receipt, and storage
- Maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and surrounding work areas
- Ensuring all machinery and equipment is used correctly and safely
- Carrying out general duties as required to support smooth and efficient food service
Who You Are
- Passionate about cooking fresh, high‑quality food
- Strong, consistent background as a Chef de Partie or similar
- A good motivator and strong team player
- Excellent culinary skills with outstanding attention to detail
- Creative, with an awareness of modern food trends and presentation styles
- Confident in all aspects of food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen compliance
- Self‑motivated, organised, and calm under pressure
- Well‑presented with great communication and customer‑facing skills
- Full UK driving licence required
- Enhanced DBS required (must be willing to wait several weeks for processing)
