The Role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in leading the kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef looking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic hotel environment.
This is a 40 hours per week role with some weekends included. Shifts will be between 6am - 9pm to cover prep and service and shift length can vary from 8-10 hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
- Support menu development, including seasonal and special dishes
- Manage stock control, ordering, and waste reduction
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
- Step into the Head Chef role when required
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to progress
- Background in hotel or high-volume kitchen environments preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Passion for fresh, high-quality food
- Good understanding of food safety standards (Level 2/3 Food Hygiene)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
