Job Type: Full-time Temporary to Permanent Hygiene Supervisor

Shifts: Day shift either 6AM - 2PM or 8AM - 4PM

Pay Rate: £13.74 per hour.

Start Date: ASAP

This is a key leadership role, responsible for supervising hygiene staff, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring compliance with site and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the hygiene team across all cleaning activities, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.
  • Plan, monitor and record daily, weekly and deep clean schedules within production, equipment, and facility areas.
  • Ensure all hygiene operations meet BRC, HACCP, and company food safety requirements.
  • Train, support and develop hygiene operatives to maintain best practice.
  • Conduct hygiene audits and inspections, addressing non conformance and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure safe use of chemicals, equipment, and correct PPE at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Senior Hygiene Operative in a food production or manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP and BRC.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in chilled, fast paced environments.
  • Confident using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
  • Flexible with shift patterns (days or back shift options available).
  • Long term, stable opportunity with potential progression
