Site Manager (Temp to Perm) - Newport, South Wales
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment? We're working with a well‑established UK manufacturer and distributor who are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations at their busy Newport facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who leads from the front, takes pride in high standards, and enjoys being closely involved in production, storage, and dispatch operations.
🔧 What You'll Be Doing
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily site activities including production, storage, and outbound dispatch
- Maintain safe, efficient workflows and ensure operational targets are met
- Keep accurate inventory records and monitor stock effectively
- Support onsite teams directly when required to keep things moving
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture across the site
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with industry and environmental regulations
Team Management
- Lead, develop, and motivate a small operational team
- Set daily priorities, allocate work, and support training needs
- Promote a positive, accountable, safety‑first culture
Quality, Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure products meet customer and industry specifications
- Oversee routine plant and equipment maintenance
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and cost control
Customer & Supplier Coordination
- Work closely with hauliers, suppliers, and logistics partners
- Support customers through accurate, timely order fulfilment
- Provide clear operational updates to senior stakeholders
🎯 What We're Looking For
- Experience in a site management, production, manufacturing, agri, chemical, or bulk materials environment
- Strong hands‑on leadership style - someone who isn't afraid to get involved
- Good understanding of logistics, storage, and safe handling of materials
- Excellent organisation, communication, and decision‑making skills
- Health & Safety qualifications (NEBOSH / IOSH) are beneficial but not essential
