Are you an organised, proactive coordinator with experience in highways, construction, utilities, or other operational field services? We're looking for a Highway Delivery Coordinator to support the delivery of essential highway maintenance services across the area.

In this varied and hands-on role, you'll help ensure maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, supporting frontline teams and contributing to the smooth running of the highway network.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning and scheduling repairs, maintenance tasks, and small schemes
  • Allocating work based on team availability, skills, and required timescales
  • Securing materials, plant, and permits needed to complete works
  • Coordinating cyclical maintenance and improvement programmes
  • Supervising operatives, contractors, and agency workers on-site
  • Carrying out audits covering punctuality, site safety, productivity, and quality
  • Maintaining accurate records using asset management systems
  • Supporting client quoting, scoping, and site visit activity
  • Helping develop and update operational procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Assisting with daily briefings, depot checks, and operational planning
  • Supporting recruitment, training, and development within frontline teams
  • Leading and motivating teams, providing constructive feedback, and escalating issues if needed
  • Supporting emergency response when required, including occasional out-of-hours duties

What we're looking for

  • Experience in highways, civils, construction delivery, or similar operational environments
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Confident supervising teams and giving clear instruction
  • Good understanding of health & safety standards
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to urgent situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, supportive, and solution‑focused approach

If you're motivated, reliable, and enjoy coordinating people and processes to achieve great results, we'd love to hear from you.
