General Maintenance Operative
Salary: £30,000-£35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30 (40 hours per week)
Location: Field‑based across multiple UK sites
A long‑established UK property operator is looking for a versatile General Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep of a diverse portfolio of commercial buildings. You'll be carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance across storage sites, office spaces, and small retail units.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll handle a broad range of general maintenance duties, including:
- General building repairs, including cladding and roofing
- Basic plumbing
- Joinery and carpentry
- Tiling
- Painting and decorating
- Carpet fitting / minor flooring works
- Paving and small civils
- Drainage works
- Grounds maintenance and site clearance
- Pressure washing
- Furniture assembly and removals
No two days are the same, and you'll be supporting multiple sites as part of a growing facilities team.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a building trade or property maintenance role
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating
- Roofing/cladding experience (desirable)
- CSCS card (desirable)
- Confident using IT systems to log work and manage costs
- Strong organisational skills to meet KPI/SLA targets
- Good understanding of H&S, including hazard identification and point‑of‑work risk assessments
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly with site teams
