We're seeking a confident and motivated <strong>Team Leader</strong> to support the day‑to‑day running of nursery rooms and help drive high‑quality childcare across our setting.</p><p>This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about Early Years practice, team development, and creating exceptional experiences for children and families.</p><p> </p><h2><strong>About the Role</strong></h2><p>As a Team Leader, you'll be a key member of the Nursery Management Team, responsible for leading room teams, upholding exemplary standards of practice, and ensuring children receive the highest levels of care and education.</p><p>You will act as a role model, mentor, and point of contact for both staff and parents, while supporting the smooth and effective running of the nursery.</p><p> </p><hr /><h2>🌱 <strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><h3><strong>Early Years Leadership</strong></h3><ul><li>Ensure the EYFS is implemented to an exemplary standard throughout your team.</li><li>Act as an outstanding key person and role model for best practice.</li><li>Lead on at least one Early Years initiative or project.</li><li>Be the first point of contact for parent queries within your team.</li><li>Carry out audits and maintain strong safeguarding standards.</li></ul><h3><strong>People Management</strong></h3><ul><li>Provide day‑to‑day leadership, supervision, and guidance to team members.</li><li>Support recruitment activities, including shortlisting and interviewing.</li><li>Oversee inductions, probation, and performance management processes.</li><li>Identify training needs and support staff development.</li><li>Manage staffing queries, rotas, and return‑to‑work meetings.</li></ul><h3><strong>Finance &amp; Administration</strong></h3><ul><li>Support invoicing, bad debt management, and payroll queries.</li><li>Develop an understanding of budgets and manage a small team budget.</li></ul><h3><strong>Health &amp; Safety</strong></h3><ul><li>Promote safe working practices and proactively manage risk.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation.</li></ul><h3><strong>Family Experience &amp; Marketing</strong></h3><ul><li>Support occupancy growth through marketing initiatives and show rounds.</li><li>Contribute to social media and wider promotional activities.</li><li>Ensure rooms are well-presented and showcase high standards at all times.</li></ul><h3><strong>Environment &amp; Maintenance</strong></h3><ul><li>Ensure equipment, toys, and resources are well maintained.</li><li>Follow up maintenance and building-related issues effectively.</li></ul><hr /><h2>🎓 <strong>Person Specification</strong></h2><h3><strong>Essential</strong></h3><ul><li>Full and relevant Early Years qualification</li><li>Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements</li><li>Experience leading a team and handling staff-related matters</li><li>Strong understanding of safeguarding, health &amp; safety, and equality legislation</li><li>Paediatric First Aid</li><li>Satisfactory DBS check</li></ul><h3><strong>Desirable</strong></h3><ul><li>Higher Early Years qualification or willingness to study</li><li>Leadership/management qualification or willingness to study</li></ul><hr /><h2>🟦 <strong>Safeguarding &amp; Compliance</strong></h2><p>We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
