Chef de Partie - Grantham

Blue Arrow are looking for line leaders, or those with potential to learn, to join a busy factory in the Bourne area. This is a temporary position but has the potential to lead to a direct contract for the right candidate after a minimum period of 12 weeks. This is a day shift position, working from 7am - 19:00pm on a continental shift pattern (3, 2, 2) which includes every other weekend. You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment leading a team of production operatives, completing the paperwork recording all stock used and produced. You will be responsible for the efficient running of the line and expected to meet targets and raising any potential issues. MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB: 1. Monitor the team's performance to ensure that targets are being met &amp; exceeded2. Motivate and encourage staff to achieve targets3. Ensure that the lines are running safely and are clean at all times.4. Encourage the team to improve working practices and methods5. Keep wastage of packaging and raw product to a minimum6. Plan line to ensure stoppages are kept to a minimum7. Follow product specifications and ensure line staff fully understands them.8. Ensure all line staff are aware of product specifications9. Blue Arrow are looking for experienced Sewing Machinists, to join our customer located in Billingborough. They specialise in the manufacturing of quality cushion products for the furniture industry. Sewing Machinists are expected to work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive environment necessary in the production of pillows and cushions with accuracy and speed to achieve company expectations necessary to meet and exceed customer demands.Responsibilities:To ensure success as a Sewing Machinist, you should display an impeccable awareness of all sewing procedures. An outstanding Sewing Machinist will be able to repair minor problems affecting their equipment. All Sewing Machinists play a crucial role in meeting our customer requirements and are expected after initial training to perform with minimal supervision. Sewing Machinists may be asked to assist with other duties and work in other departments when needed to meet those requirements.Knowledge and Skills:Essential skills· An experienced lockstitch machinist (any industry) with a clear understanding of how an industrial lockstitch machine operates, to produce high-quality work.· Experience of overlock and twin needle machinery (desirable).· A basic knowledge of Health and Safety procedures within the workplace.· Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.· Prepare an efficient workstation and organise workload to ensure a quick, smooth workflow.· Ability to work with different fabric types and adjust machine settings accordingly.· Strong attention to detail and quality orientated.· Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.· Basic troubleshooting skills for sewing machines.· Read, interpret, and work to instructions i.e., specifications, standard operating procedures.· Ability to work as part of a sewing production team or individually, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
