Building Control Officers
Location: Manchester Embankment, M3
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts: Split shift - 7:00am-3:30pm and 10:30pm-7:00am
Rate: £13.46 per hour
Contract Type: Temp to Perm (after 2 months)
Start Date: 9th March
Clearance Required: BPSS (required for working onsite at Manchester Embankment)
About the Role
We are recruiting 2 Building Control Officers (BCOs) to support the facilities and operational functions at a brand‑new office site at Manchester Embankment. The role is ideal for individuals who are confident with computer‑based work, managing tasks, and supporting day‑to‑day building operations.
Training Requirements
Although the permanent base for this role is Manchester Embankment, successful candidates must complete several weeks of training at Newton‑le‑Willows.
- Candidates can begin training before BPSS clearance is fully completed.
- BPSS must be completed before transitioning to the Manchester Embankment site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and close tasks within the facilities management system
- Support daily operational activities across the building
- Coordinate and record job updates using digital systems
- Maintain compliance with site processes and safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with the site and management team
- Provide general facilities‑focused support as required
What We're Looking For
- Experience in facilities, building operations, or similar roles (preferred)
- Strong IT literacy and confidence with digital systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
- Flexibility to work across early and night split shifts
- Willing to complete BPSS clearance before operating onsite
