<h2><strong>School Receptionist - Immediate Start</strong></h2><p><strong>Location: Derby, DE24</strong></p><p><strong>Contract:</strong> <strong>Full Time - Temporary Ongoing - potential to go permanent for the right person</strong></p><p><strong>DBS:</strong> <strong>Enhanced Child Workforce DBS required</strong></p><p> </p><p>On behalf of our client we are looking for an organised, confident and people-focused <strong>School Receptionist</strong> to join their busy front‑of‑house team. As the first point of contact for parents, students, visitors and staff, you'll play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for everyone who enters the school.</p><h3> </h3><h3><strong>About the Role</strong></h3><p>Their school reception is fast‑paced and dynamic, so they need someone who can stay calm under pressure, manage multiple tasks at once, and adapt quickly to whatever the day brings. You'll handle telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries, support staff with administrative tasks, and maintain a professional and friendly reception environment at all times.</p><p>At times, you may be dealing with parents who are upset or frustrated. For this reason, we are looking for someone who is patient, composed, and able to de‑escalate situations with confidence and empathy.</p><h3> </h3><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Greeting and assisting students, parents, visitors and staff</li><li>Managing incoming calls, emails and queries in a polite and efficient manner</li><li>Handling a variety of administrative tasks to support the school office</li><li>Maintaining accurate records and updating school systems</li><li>Managing visitor entry and safeguarding procedures</li><li>Remaining calm and professional when handling challenging conversations</li></ul><h3><strong>About You</strong></h3><ul><li>Proven experience working in a Receptionist role, ideally 1-2 years</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Friendly, confident and able to build rapport quickly</li><li>Strong IT and PC skills - training will be provided on school systems</li><li>Able to stay composed under pressure and manage difficult conversations</li><li>Highly organised with strong attention to detail</li><li>A team player with a positive and proactive approach</li><li>Must have an <strong>Enhanced Child Workforce DBS</strong></li></ul><h3><strong>What We Offer</strong></h3><ul><li>A supportive and welcoming staff team</li><li>Training on school systems and processes</li><li>The opportunity to make a real difference in a busy school community</li></ul><p>Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.</p>
