Payroll Business PartnerLocation: WarringtonPay Rate: £14.21 per hourStart Date: ImmediateEnd Date: 30 April 2026Hours: 37 hours per week About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Payroll Business Partner to join our Employee Services team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will support the delivery of an accurate, efficient, and customer‑focused payroll and transactional HR service for employees and third parties. You will play a key part in ensuring that payroll processes are compliant, timely, and delivered to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience and a commitment to exceptional service delivery. Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:<ul><li>Support and deliver a range of employee transactional processes.</li><li>Validate timesheet, absence and annual leave information in line with policies and conditions of service.</li><li>Ensure payroll and HR transactions are completed accurately, on time, and in line with documented procedures.</li><li>Provide expert advice relating to HMRC, PAYE, Tax, NI, SSP and SMP.</li><li>Build and maintain positive relationships with employees, managers, external bodies (including HMRC and pension funds), HR colleagues and third‑party payrolls.</li><li>Produce written statements of particulars and contract variation letters in line with employment legislation.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying efficiency opportunities.</li><li>Support the training of new and junior colleagues.</li><li>Respond promptly to queries and maintain a strong customer‑focused approach.</li></ul> Essential Experience &amp; Skills<ul><li>Experience working within a payroll or transactional processing environment.</li><li>Strong understanding of PAYE/HMRC regulations and employment‑related calculations.</li><li>Excellent verbal, written, numerical and keyboard skills.</li><li>Ability to work accurately with confidential information.</li><li>Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.</li><li>IT proficiency including spreadsheets and word‑processing tools.</li><li>A collaborative approach with confidence and determination.</li></ul>Desirable<ul><li>Experience with pension scheme administration.</li><li>Knowledge of auto-enrolment requirements.</li><li>Use of payroll software systems.</li><li>CIPP qualification or equivalent.</li></ul>Other Requirements<ul><li>Flexible approach to work.</li><li>High attention to detail.</li><li>Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.</li><li>Commitment to equality, diversity and sustainability (including willingness to undertake Carbon Literacy training).</li></ul> How to ApplyIf you are an experienced payroll professional with a passion for delivering high‑quality services, we'd love to hear from you.
