Motor Vehicle TechnicianSalary: £35,019 - £41,380 + 21% unsocial hours paymentLocation: NewcastleHours: 37.5hrs average, 4‑on / 4‑off, 12‑hour shiftsType of contract: Fixed term contract, minimum 6 months, potential extension We're recruiting for an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join a busy workshop team on a fixed-term basis, supporting the maintenance of our essential emergency service fleet.What you'll do<ul><li>Carry out high‑quality servicing, inspections and repairs on vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes (majority up to 5.5t).</li><li>Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.</li><li>Complete planned and unplanned maintenance to keep our fleet operational and safe.</li><li>Road test vehicles as required.</li><li>Use our computerised fleet management system to record work accurately.</li><li>Liaise professionally with managers, crews, suppliers and contractors.</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe workspace and uphold NEASUS standards.</li><li>Provide occasional cover for the Team Leader when needed.</li></ul>What we're looking for<ul><li>Strong experience working on LGVs/light HGVs</li><li>Excellent diagnostic skills</li><li>Confident using fleet or workshop systems</li><li>Professional communication and teamwork</li><li>Commitment to safe, high‑quality, value‑for‑money repairs</li><li>Ability to keep up with industry technology and standards</li></ul>Working pattern<ul><li>4 days on / 4 days off</li><li>12‑hour shifts: 06:00-18:00 or 12:00-00:00</li></ul>If you think this role could be suited to your skillset, please apply to this advert and a member of the team will be in touch to discuss next steps.
