Kitchen Assistant - 4 Days Per Week
Permanent | Immediate Start Available
Full-time £12.71-£13.25 per hour
36 hours per week
This is not a standard kitchen role. We are looking specifically for someone with experience in:
- A nursery kitchen
- A primary school kitchen
- An Early Years setting with food preparation responsibilities
- An Early Years setting as a practitioner involved in food service
Our nursery is known for:
- Exceptional food quality and nutrition standards
- A strong commitment to allergy safety
- Unique real-world learning experiences (including being the first UK nursery to welcome an RAF educational aircraft landing!)
What We Require:
- Experience in a nursery, school, or Early Years environment
- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene (minimum)
- Strong understanding of allergen management
- Knowledge of HACCP systems
- Awareness of Natasha's Law and food labelling requirements
- Confidence working to Environmental Health standards
The Role:
- Support with fresh, from-scratch food preparation
- Follow allergy procedures and maintain strict food safety compliance
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and inspection-ready
- Work closely with our Chef and leadership team
- Occasionally support children in safe, structured activities
