Quality Technician 📍 Location: Runcorn💰 Pay: £16.40 per hour🕒 Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (Monday-Friday) <ul><li>5:30am - 1:30pm</li><li>1:30pm - 9:30pm</li><li>📂 Department: Quality</li></ul> Purpose of the Position To ensure all products manufactured comply with food safety, quality, and legal requirements prior to release. Key Responsibilities Control of Products <ul><li>Responsible for the release of raw materials and semi-finished products</li><li>Ensure all internal quality, product, and process monitoring, testing, and analysis is completed against agreed schedules and aligned to the site Quality Management System (QMS) and customer specifications</li><li>Monitor QC testing results and escalate potential issues to relevant stakeholders</li><li>Recommend solutions and identify corrective actions where required</li><li>Ensure systems are in place to verify finished product release against agreed customer specifications</li><li>Maintain product control on site until formal release</li></ul> Product Standards <ul><li>Ensure all products meet required specifications through:</li><li><ul><li>Sensory evaluation testing</li><li>Accurate completion and recording of QC checks in line with procedures</li><li>Microbiological and chemical testing (non-batch and batch as per customer requirements)</li></ul></li><li> </li><li>Investigate anomalous results and take appropriate corrective action</li><li>Manage retained and micro samples to accurately represent material batches</li><li>Review and ensure product testing plans are logical and suitable for existing and new materials</li><li>Report any drift in product or process quality parameters when reviewing historical data</li></ul> Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) <ul><li>Ensure the laboratory is "audit ready" on a daily basis</li></ul> Non-Conforming Products <ul><li>Escalate issues to the Quality Manager where required</li></ul> Laboratory Safety <ul><li>Ensure safe start-up and close-down of the laboratory at the beginning and end of each shift</li><li>Report near-misses, accidents, hazards, occupational illnesses, and emergencies in line with reporting procedures</li><li>Support investigations when required</li><li>Participate in Health &amp; Safety initiatives (e.g., risk assessments, safety observations)</li><li>Ensure waste is managed and disposed of through the correct waste streams</li></ul> What We're Looking For <ul><li>Experience in a food manufacturing or laboratory environment</li><li>Understanding of QMS, food safety, and quality standards</li><li>Knowledge of microbiological and chemical testing processes</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse data</li><li>Proactive approach to problem-solving</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a rotating shift pattern</li></ul> This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-focused manufacturing site offering stable Monday-Friday working hours and competitive pay.
