Are you passionate about producing high‑quality food and creating memorable dining experiences? We're looking for a committed and creative Chef to join our busy kitchen team. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll help deliver excellent meals, maintain high standards of food safety, and contribute to a warm, supportive working environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will:

  • Prepare, cook, and present high‑quality food within budget.
  • Produce meals that meet customer dietary requirements and menu standards.
  • Ensure consistent food quality across all stages of production.
  • Maintain rigorous hygiene, food safety, and quality control standards.
  • Participate in HACCP procedures and follow Food Safety Management processes, including cleaning rotas and closing procedures.
  • Support stock ordering and rotation when required.
  • Help uphold a positive, collaborative kitchen environment.

You'll work 37.5 hours per week, across 5 shifts over 7 days, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of a rota.

While you do not need to hold a Christian faith, an understanding of and willingness to support the organisation's Christian ethos is essential.

  • Experience as a Chef or in a similar kitchen role (1 year preferred).
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a rota.
  • Commitment to high standards of food production and hygiene.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to uphold organisational values.
  • Knowledge of the Christian, not‑for‑profit, charity, or education conference sector is beneficial but not essential.

What You'll Get

Enjoy a genuinely supportive working environment and a rare work-life balance within the hospitality sector, plus:

  • Company pension (6% employer contribution)**
  • 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays)
  • Additional holiday with long service
  • Company sick pay**

  • Free parking & on-site parking
  • Discounted or free food (including one free meal per shift)
  • Staff canteen
  • Discounted stays for family at other centres (subject to availability)
  • Access to free company events throughout the year
  • A warm, servant-hearted organisational culture
  • Health & wellbeing programme
