<p>Bluearrow are seeking a committed and proactive <strong>Grounds Maintenance Operative</strong> to join our Estates &amp; Facilities team. In this vital role, you will help ensure the hospital grounds, facilities, and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and staff.</p><p>You will work as part of a skilled maintenance team, following a 3‑shift rota pattern and carrying out a variety of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, routine checks, and general repairs.</p><hr /><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><h3><strong>Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)</strong></h3><p>You will carry out scheduled PPM tasks with minimal supervision, including:</p><ul><li>Performing relevant tests and safety checks</li><li>Boiler and steam plant tests and calibration checks</li><li>Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)</li><li>Water testing and monitoring</li><li>Minor repairs, fixtures, and general upkeep</li><li>Lubrication of plant and equipment</li><li>Cleaning and maintenance of drainage systems</li><li>Cleaning of workshops and plant room facilities</li><li>Cleaning and basic maintenance of ventilation systems</li><li>Cleaning and upkeep of lighting systems</li></ul><h3><strong>General Duties</strong></h3><ul><li>Ensure the hospital environment is maintained to a safe standard for patients, staff, and visitors</li><li>Assist higher‑skilled trades when required as part of coordinated project work for the Health Board</li><li>Provide and receive routine information to support coordination of services, including helpline communications</li><li>Plan and organise your own day‑to‑day tasks and workload effectively</li></ul><hr /><h2><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></h2><ul><li>Experience in grounds, estates, or facilities maintenance (NHS/healthcare experience advantageous but not essential)</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Strong organisational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Willingness to work across a 3‑shift rota</li><li>A proactive, safety‑focused mindset</li></ul><hr /><p><strong>Hourly Rate:</strong> £12.21 - £22.34 per hour</p><p><strong>Contract:</strong> Full-time, rotating 3‑shift pattern</p><h2><strong>Location:</strong> Newport</h2><ul><li>Competitive hourly pay: <strong>£12.21 - £22.34 per hour</strong></li><li>Supportive team environment</li><li>Opportunities for training and skill development</li><li>A role where your work truly makes a difference</li></ul><p> </p><p>Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.</p>
