Chef Manager - School Catering (Reading) £24kpa

32.5 hours per week | Term-time only (39 weeks per year)

We're looking for an organised, energetic Chef Manager to lead a friendly school catering operation in Reading. This is the perfect role for someone who wants leadership responsibility without sacrificing work-life balance - no evenings, no weekends, and only 39 working weeks per year.


? The Role

As Chef Manager, you'll oversee the daily catering service for approximately 140 covers per day, delivering two meal services to pupils and staff. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by example, ensuring fresh, nutritious meals and excellent service.


? Your Team

You'll manage a small, supportive team consisting of:

  • 2 General Assistants

You'll be responsible for motivating the team, planning menus, ordering stock, maintaining compliance, and ensuring smooth daily operations.


? Hours & Work Pattern

  • 8:30am - 2:30pm
  • 32.5 hours per week
  • 39 weeks per year (term-time only)
