About the Role We are looking to appoint a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team, a welcoming and inclusive primary school. The successful candidate will help prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals to our pupils and contribute to a positive lunchtime experience for young children. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and supporting children's wellbeing. Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals for primary-aged children</li><li>Ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen and dining environment</li><li>Washing up and general kitchen cleaning duties</li><li>Supporting the smooth running of the lunchtime service</li><li>Following all food hygiene, health &amp; safety, and school policies</li><li>Interacting with children in a kind, calm, and respectful manner</li></ul> Person Specification <ul><li>A cheerful and approachable manner</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and well organised</li><li>Catering or kitchen experience desirable but not essential (full training provided)</li><li>Understanding of food hygiene standards or willingness to undertake training</li></ul> Safeguarding &amp; DBS This post involves regular contact with children and is therefore subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check with a check against the Children's Barred List.
