Technical Skills Coach / Trainer - ElectricalSalary: Support Staff Scale (L)Hours: 37 hours per weekContract: Full-timeLocation: Multi‑site roleAbout the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Technical Skills Coach / Electrical Trainer to support and develop apprentices on an established Electrical Apprenticeship Programme. You will play a key role in guiding apprentices through their training journey-delivering high‑quality skills coaching, mentoring, assessment, and preparing them for successful End Point Assessment (EPA).This role is ideal for someone with strong industry knowledge, a passion for developing others, and the ability to build positive relationships with apprentices and employers.Key ResponsibilitiesApprentice Coaching &amp; Support<ul><li>Manage a caseload of apprentices, delivering high‑quality skills coaching aligned to apprenticeship standards.</li><li>Provide mentoring, assessment, and constructive feedback to support timely progression towards EPA Gateway.</li><li>Offer additional support to apprentices who require extra guidance.</li><li>Maintain regular communication with apprentices and employers, ensuring full engagement throughout the programme.</li></ul>Progress Monitoring &amp; Reviews<ul><li>Conduct progress reviews every 10-12 weeks, discussing achievements, concerns, and readiness for Gateway.</li><li>Track development of skills, knowledge, and behaviours in line with apprenticeship requirements.</li><li>Support initial assessments and establish realistic start and planned end dates.</li></ul>Learning Support &amp; Compliance<ul><li>Work with Additional Learner Support teams to document and implement support needs.</li><li>Ensure employers understand on‑ and off‑the‑job training requirements.</li><li>Monitor and track off‑the‑job training hours to meet audit and compliance standards.</li></ul>Systems &amp; Communication<ul><li>Use Microsoft Teams and e‑portfolio systems for communication, assessment, and progress tracking.</li><li>Maintain accurate apprentice records using approved systems (e.g., EBS, Pro‑Achieve, e‑portfolio platforms).</li><li>Liaise with EPAOs and stay up to date with apprenticeship and EPA developments.</li><li>Work collaboratively with the central Apprenticeship team to ensure consistent information sharing.</li></ul>General Duties<ul><li>Support a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.</li><li>Uphold safeguarding, health &amp; safety, equality, and data protection policies.</li><li>Engage in CPD to maintain up‑to‑date industry and educational knowledge.</li><li>Undertake duties appropriate to the role as required.</li></ul>Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications<ul><li>Level 2 English</li><li>Level 2 Maths</li><li>Relevant degree and/or vocational qualification</li><li>18th Edition &amp; AM2/AM2S</li><li>Level 3 Electrical Diploma (e.g., 2365, 8202, 2330, 2360)</li><li>PTLLS and A1/CAVA (or equivalent)</li><li>Teaching qualification (CET, DET, DTLLS) or willingness to work towards</li></ul>Desirable Qualifications<ul><li>Assessor Award (A1 or equivalent)</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Experience working with apprentices and employers.</li><li>Experience with awarding bodies, EPAOs, and curriculum teams.</li><li>Experience supporting learners with varying abilities and backgrounds.</li><li>Knowledge of curriculum development and managing the learning process.</li></ul>Skills &amp; Attributes<ul><li>Highly organised, methodical, and adaptable.</li><li>Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including team teaching.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul> Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.
