<p><strong>Environmental Health Officer</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong> Location:</strong> Derbyshire</p><p><strong>Contract Type:</strong> Fixed-term until 31st March</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> Full-time (flexibility required for occasional evenings and Saturdays)</p><h4> </h4><h4><strong>About the Role</strong></h4><p>We are seeking a professional, confident, and assertive Environmental Health Officer on behalf of our client to join their team on a short-term contract. This role involves working within a local authority setting, delivering high-quality services to protect public health and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.</p><h4> </h4><h4><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h4><ul><li>Take enforcement action in accordance with Trading Standards and Environmental Protection legislation.</li><li>Instigate legal proceedings and statutory enforcement where appropriate.</li><li>Communicate effectively with members of the public, stakeholders, colleagues, and external agencies.</li><li>Demonstrate awareness of equalities and diversity issues in service delivery.</li><li>Apply negotiation skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.</li><li>Maintain a commitment to customer care and professional standards.</li></ul><h4><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></h4><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C or equivalent).</li><li><strong>Driving Licence:</strong> Full UK licence with business insurance (ideally).</li><li><strong>IT Skills:</strong> Competent in using information technology systems.</li><li><strong>Experience</strong>:Practical Trading Standards Officer (TSO) training within a local authority.<ul><li>Previous enforcement experience under Trading Standards legislation.</li><li>Knowledge of Environmental Protection legislation and procedures.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Personal Attributes:</strong>Flexible approach to working hours.<ul><li>Professional, confident, and able to handle demanding workloads.</li></ul></li></ul><p> </p><p>Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.</p>
