This is a Relay Typist role, where speed and precision are essential to help people communicate in critical situations.Relay UK is a vital service that enables deaf, hard of hearing, and speech-impaired individuals to connect with emergency services, businesses, and loved ones. You'll be the link that ensures conversations happen smoothly and quickly, sometimes in life-or-death circumstances.<hr /><h3>What You'll Do</h3>* Act as a Relay Typist, converting spoken words into text in real time with exceptional accuracy.* Support a range of services, including Relay UK calls, Emergency (999/112), Directory Enquiries (118500), and other essential communication channels.* Communicate calmly and empathetically under pressure.* Your ability to type fast and accurately ensures accessibility and safety for thousands of people.<hr /><h3>What We're Looking For</h3>* Typing speed: 50+ WPM with 98% accuracy (tested during application)* Clear, empathetic communication skills* Ability to stay composed in emotionally challenging situations* Critical thinking and process adherence<hr /><h3>Shift Patterns</h3>Choose from two 4-week rotating rotas:* Option 1: 6:00-17:00 (two weeks), then 12:00-23:00 (two weeks)* Option 2: 8:00-19:00 (two weeks), then 12:00-23:00 (two weeks)* Includes some weekend rest days.
